Well, I'm on a sugar high because it's Easter, so please excuse howweird this story is! It's also pretty short.Livingby Kirsten Clemmensen"Happy Easter B’Elanna!" Tom said as he caught up with her on their wayto the mess hall."Hmph! Another Human holiday were you celebrate the rebirth of one ofyour god images." B’Elanna was getting sick of human holidays, and sheneeded some coffee."B’Elanna, that wasn’t very nice!" Tom’s good mood couldn’t be swayedtoo easily, he loved holidays."I just want to know, how did Terran rabbits get involved?" B’Elanna sawseveral crew members with stuffed animals, *stupider and stupider.*"Hmmm, some kind of symbol for spring and fertility, I think," Tomreplied as he sat down."There, you see! We’re nowhere near earth, it’s not spring, there are norabbits, and no god images! What is there to celebrate?" Tom seemed alittle crestfallen. B’Elanna regretted spoiling his good mood."We’re alive," He said quietly, looking down at his food. B’Elannaglanced around, the whole mess hall had gone quiet, everyone waslistening to their conversation."What?" she hissed at him, trying to get everyone to stop looking atthem, she could feel the color rising in her cheeks."Easter is supposed to separate the resurrection of Christ. We’re alive,isn’t that worth celebrating?" Tom spoke a little louder. Getting rid ofhis cocky exterior was hard for him, but he had to make B’Elannaunderstand.B’Elanna looked at him for a long moment, a smile slowly forming on herface. She took the initiative, and stood up, raising her cup in the air."To living!" she said.Everyone in the room got to their feet, Tom grinning at her, "Toliving!"They all sat back down, and the normal chatter returned."Thanks Tom," she said. His eyes sparkled back in reply. *Maybe theseholidays aren’t that bad after all.* l l{'y'}    The End!
