A Father's Point of View By Stephanie Shaw Email at Lady_Cleo@hotmail.com B’Elanna’s father wonders what became of his daughter and if she is happy! Sometime after Tom and B'Elanna started dating. A father's point of view? How can I have a point of view, when I wasn't there for most her life. I wonder would she ever forgive me? Could she? I'll never know...I'll probably never see her again. What I would give to see my daughter...my sweet Lanna. I wonder has she found someone else to call her Lanna...could she ever trust a man after what I did? I sit here pinning after my little girl. I wonder how her mother is? I do truly love her mother. It's just the fact that I'm out here in the Delta Quad while their still in the alpha. Just a few hours after I'd left did the convey watch my ship explode. Little did they know instead of dying we where thrown across space. I'm sure they immediately called my loving wife. I'm sure she couldn't bear to tell Lanna, and told her I left. I wonder how old my little girl is now. As my small shuttle and her small crew of 30 travel though space my Lanna grows older with someone I hope she truly loves. Or maybe she lonely. I'll never know that answer. I wish I could but a can't. I stand and begin to pace my ready room. I wish I could see my sweet wife and daughter. Just to see their faces again. To know that they live happily. Maybe that would stop them from haunting my dreams nightly. A pain fills my heart, a pain that can never be filled...never. "CAPTAIN...Richard...Torres." An unfamiliar voice interrupts my deep thoughts and I look to see the familiar yet unfamiliar face of Q. "Your wish is granted...." I'm blinded by the brightest light possible... I wish to cry out, WHAT WISH...but the words never escape........ Instead I find my self on some ship...in some Engineer's office. The Q stands beside me as if he where the ghost of Christmas to come in Scrooge. That's when she walks in. A girl I'd know since she first took her very own breath. My daughter. She stands tall and gracefully and has the stride of the world. She walks as if a load had been lifted off her shoulder. An ensign follows her. An ensign who looks as if he'd jump off the world for her. "Lt. Torres...I was wondering if..." The poor ensign was cute off by the entice of a tall blond man. A man who reminds me of the late, or so I think late...Admiral Paris. My daughters' face lights up the room with a smile at his presence. "Tom...." She exclaims running into his arms. The ensigns mouth drops open. "....Paris..." He stumbles as he excused himself. B'Elanna grab's this... Paris and almost violently kisses him. She then pulls back and slaps him...hard. He just grins. "You miss me that much???" He asked. "Don't you ever pull a stunt like that again. I'll personally kill you..." She exclaimed shooting daggers at him though her eyes, just like her mother. "Well Lanna...I can't help it. Trouble just loves me. After isn't that how we meet??? Except well we more of equal danger. But I did get closer to you when we where in danger. I'm sure my near escapes of death always give me time to think about you...." She covers his mouth with her hand. "Shut up...you pig...your nothing more then a hotshot pilot who loves to worry me to death." "Ahh but you know I'll never leave you on purpose, if I die, I'll comeback, just to keep you happy." "More likely you'll drive me crazy...." This time he shuts her up with a kiss. A flash of light blinds me, I open my eyes to find myself back in my crazy world. Not sure if what I just saw was a dream or real. Closing my eyes again I think for a second before deciding it most have just been a dream... All declaimers apply.
