Okay, I may not know the most about Early Edition, but I know enough to write this... I think... This is NOT the best ficcy, seeing as there is no storyline or plot and I’m just kinda going from scratch, ^^;; but oh well!

Disclaimer: none of the Early Edition chara’s belong to me, neither do any of the Inu-Yasha chara’s.

By the way, some of the characters from Inu-Yasha you probably don’t know about. So to explain a few things...

Inu-Yasha: Inu-Yasha is a Half-dog demon. So he has dog ears. But I say they look like cat ears. Anyway, when his brother shows up later, he says something about the Tetsusaigia. (Te-SA-i-ga) It’s a demon sword that belonged to their dead father, but only Inu-Yasha can wield it. He’s also technically 67 years old if you count the 50 years he was staked up to a tree by his dead girlfriend cuz she was tricked by Naraku cuz Naraku morphed into Inu-Yasha and almost killed Kikyo, and then he did the same to Inu-Yasha except in Kikyo’s form and he didn’t almost kill him and then Kikyo ‘killed’ Inu-Yasha with the last of her strength.... and uh... he likes Kagome but won’t admit it. (Thaz kinda longer than I meant it to be...)

Sango: Sango is a demon slayer who usually carries a giant (REALLY giant!) boomerang on her back, and Miroku seems to like her.... But I saw him first......>.<

Miroku: *_* Miroku is a (really cute) Buddhist monk who has a curse on his hand. What it is is a black hole that sucks up EVERYTHING, and someday, it will devour him as well ;_; *sniffle* but he’s gonna beat Naraku (Naraku does way too much evil stuff! bleagh!) and get the curse off of him! So YAAAAYYY!!!

Kagome: Kagome is a junior high school girl who has to go from her time in Japan, to the warring states of the past through a magical well. Why? She is the reincarnation of the dead priestess who guarded the Shikon jewel and is supposedly Inu-Yasha’s ex. <~~~ the one who staked him to the tree cuz Naraku tricked her) and she likes Inu-Yasha but won’t admit it either.

Sesshou-Maru: Inu-Yasha’s half-brother who seeks the treasure sword testusaigia that Inu-Yasha inherited from their father. He claims to hate mortals, but saves one little mortal girl’s soul and keeps her at his side. Is he good or bad?!!!!

Rin: The child that Sesshou-Maru revived. She speaks in third-person and is really CUTE!!!

Shippo: A young (6 or 7?) fox-demon with orange hair, fluffy tail, blue kimono, and fox feet. He’s SOOOOO CUTE!!! *squeal* such wittle cutie pie! He can morph into anything, but needs a lot of practice...... ^^;;;

Shikon jewel: It isn’t a chara, but Kagome does mention it. It gives power to demons, and can make truly evil mortals into powerful demons. Kikyo died trying to purify it, but was reborn as Kagome. Kagome was pulled into the well by a demon and found the jewel inside her body. She shattered it into a million pieces trying to get it back from a demon and now has to travel between the worlds to retrieve all the shards and put it back together.

Kaede: Old woman who is Inu-Yasha’s ex’s little sister. She helps out in some ways, but really has no point....

(Okay, the only way I can do this is that Gary is on a vacation in Japan... because... Chuck dragged him there, to do a show. Marissa is with them too because Marissa is too cool to be left out =^_^= *mew*)

“I’m on my vacation Cat.” said Gary when he found him at the front steps with the paper. Cat just looked at him and then walked on in. Gary picked up the paper. “I’m not gonna be able to help anyone.” Cat simply mewed and went to sleep. Gary walked into the kitchen and put the paper on the table.

“That cat knows no limits does it Gar?” said Chuck from behind him.

“Well I’m not going to be able to do anything a million miles away.” said Gary.
“And whose fault is that?” said Chuck, “You decided to come here.” Gary shook his head and started to make himself some coffee. “So anyway. I was thinking that maybe the first scene could be at Tokyo tower, but I found this great Japanese restaurant that... Hey wait...” Chuck picked up the paper. “Gary this paper is dubbed. It was Japanese before, someone dubbed it.”

“How would you know that?” said Gary. “Well in America, we don’t have ads for Summer kimonos.” said Chuck, pointing to the ads page.

Gary took the paper from him. “So much for a vacation.” he said throwing the paper on the table again.

Chuck went through the paper and declared that nothing big happened. “So since that’s the case, let’s get dressed and go out for breakfast.” said Marissa coming from the back room.

“I like that idea, how about it Gary?” said Chuck.

“Yeah, sure.” said Gary. Marissa left to get ready. Gary looked back at the table to find Cat sitting on an article in the paper. He picked it up and read, “The Higurashi mini-shrine caught fire at 9:35 A.M. on Friday the 21st. All the family but one 15 year old girl by the name of Kagome Higurashi were found outside the entrance. The grandfather claimed that she was in the well-house and was positive she was just fine. But when officials searched the well-house they didn’t find anything except  a pile of bones at the bottom of the well... Chuck you liar!” Gary got dressed and checked the time. Thirty minutes. He stuffed the paper into his coat pocket and ran in the direction of the Higurashi shrine. (How he knows where it is, you decide.)

When he got there it was already burning. Three people were standing outside that were being questioned by the police. “She’s just fine! She’s in the well-house!” Gary heard the older man say. Without thinking, he ran into the shrine, much to the annoyance of the firefighters. Gary ran through the flames with a handkerchief over his mouth. He spotted the well-house and ran towards it, dodging one of the falling beams that held up the shrine. Once he got into the well-house he saw the girl standing there in front of the well with a giant backpack on.

“Hey!” Gary shouted out to her. Not hearing him, she jumped into the well, avoiding the flames. Gary ran to the well and saw her fall to the bottom and then disappear. Not into the darkness, but literally disappear. Gary noticed a rope ladder that was untouched by the fire going into the well. He started to climb down it but the ladder caught fire and Gary fell the rest of the way down, blacking out before he hit the ground.

~~~~~
Gary woke to the sounds of annoyed talking. (He’s not in the well anymore) “He’s from your world? Is this that Hojo brat that you’re always with?!”
“Hojo is not a brat Inu-Yasha, and he’s only sixteen. I don’t know who this is.”
“He has a handsome look to him if you think about it...”
“Sango, he’s too old for you.”
“That never seemed to matter to you, monk.”
“I like him! He’s fun to jump on!”
“Shippo stop!” something made impact with Gary’s stomach, knocking the wind out of him.
“What in the...” Gary rubbed the blackness away from his eyes and stared at the thing that had been jumping on him.
“Kagome, he’s awake!” it said cheerfully. Gary looked at the small Kitsune on top of him and took in his Vulcan ears, bright orange hair, kimono, and fluffy fox tail.
“What are... who are you?” said Gary, sitting up and making him fall into his lap.
“I’m Shippo! The most powerful Fox-demon in the world!” it said happily. Gary stared at Shippo, not sure what to say.
“That’s enough Shippo.” said a girl with black hair pulled back into a pony-tail. “I’m Sango, I work as a demon slayer, nice to meet you!”
“I’m Miroku, I am a Buddhist monk, it’s good to meet you.” said the guy standing next to her dressed in monk’s robes.
“I’m Kagome Higurashi.” said the girl Gary had come after, “And this is Inu-Yasha.” she said, gesturing to a silver haired boy dressed in a red kimono and dog/cat-ears.
“Feh.” was all he said.
“I’m Gary.” he said, looking at Inu-Yasha’s ears questionably before looking away. Gary stood up and accidentally made eye-contact with Inu-Yasha.
“What?!” Inu-Yasha snapped. Gary reached towards his ears and pulled on one. Inu-Yasha glared at him.
“Yes, these are real.” he said, jerking his head away.
“Come on Inu-Yasha, be a little nicer!” said Kagome.
“Feh”
“Sit.” Without warning, Inu-Yasha slammed into the ground. Gary decided not to ask at this time, although he helped Inu-Yasha up. He reached into his coat pocket and found the paper. He scanned down the paragraph and then found his name next to Kagome’s as one of the missing persons.
“Great.”
“Where are we...?” he said, looking at Kagome.
“Well...” she looked a little uncomfortable. “I’ll tell you, but you can’t tell ANYONE.” she said. Gary agreed. “Okay, the well that you followed me through takes you back in time to the Sengoku period. And along with war there are demons, some good, some bad. So that kind of explains Shippo and Inu-Yasha.  And I guess that’s about it besides the fact we’re looking for the Shikon jewel, a jewel that gives power to demons...”
Gary burst into laughter. “I cannot believe this!” Gary said.
“He’s scaring me now...” whispered Shippo.
“Shippo!” Kagome hissed, backing up herself.
Gary took a deep breath. “On the other hand, I’ve been through worse than this, (Such as vampires, I LOVE that Buffy ficcy!) so I’m inclined to believe you... But what about that ‘sit’ thing?”
“Oh, that...” said Kagome. Sango broke into silent giggles. “The necklace he’s wearing has a curse that makes him crash into the ground whenever I say ‘Sit’.” Inu-Yasha slammed into the ground again. “Oops...”
Gary stifled a laugh. “Well, this is great and all, but the only reason I came into the building in the first place was to get you, so how do I get back if everything is okay here?” said Gary.
“Before I tell you, how did you know I was in the Well-house and why did you run into a burning shrine after me?”
Gary said the first thing that popped into his head. “Your grandfather sent me in after you.” he said.
“Grandpa knew I’d be safe.” said Kagome.
“He must have been delirious.” said Gary. Kagome stared at him suspiciously but overlooked it. “Now, how do I get back?”
“I was wondering how you got here in the first place.” said Miroku. “Kagome, you get through the well by the power of the Shikon jewel, right?” Kagome nodded. “Then does that mean that you posses a shard of the jewel?”
Gary had no idea what they were talking about. “I don’t... think...”
Inu-Yasha cracked his knuckles. “Then why don’t we find out?!” he said coming at Gary with his claws.
“Inu-Yasha! SIT!” shouted Kagome. Inu-Yasha crashed into the ground a few feet away from Gary, who took a few steps backwards. Why do these things happen to me? he thought as Inu-Yasha got up and started towards Kagome, receiving another ‘Sit’.
“I must admit though, that I’ve never been able to get through without a shard of the Shikon jewel.” said Kagome.
“I don’t own any shard, or jewel.” said Gary.
“I sense one in your coat pocket.” she said.
Gary reached into his pocket and pulled out a bracelet full of diamonds. “What?” Gary then took the time to notice that he was wearing Chuck’s coat. “I must’ve grabbed the wrong coat.” he said. Inu-Yasha tried to take the bracelet. Kagome made him ‘sit’ again and asked if she could see it. Gary handed her the bracelet and Kagome carefully pried one of the jewels out.
“This one is the Shikon shard.” she said, handing the bracelet back to Gary.
“Whoa, wait a minute, this isn’t mine, and I don’t think...” Inu-Yasha cracked his knuckles. “... Or you could just keep it...” he said, not wanting to find out if those fangs and claws were real. “Chuck is not going to be happy about this though...” he muttered, looking at the gap where the shard used to be.
“I’ll let you have it back so you can get through the well, but I need it afterward...Demon aura!” Kagome said suddenly. Inu-Yasha shot to attention. “Where is it?!”
“Shiiiikooon....” came a voice behind Gary. “Give Shikon...” a giant squid-like thing came from the trees.
“What the?!” Gary grabbed Kagome’s hand and began to run. One of the tentacles wrapped around Gary’s waist and lifted him off the ground.
“Gary!” shouted Shippo. “Leave him alone!” The squid knocked him away with one swipe.
Gary pried at the tentacle that held him. “This is not happening!” he said to himself as his hands slipped on the slimy surface of the squid. Inu-Yasha jumped at the monster with his sword drawn. But after slicing one tentacle, he was swatted away too. Gary was still trying to get the monster off him, but wasn’t getting very far. Gary was pulled towards the monster’s giant mouth. “Oh man...” Gary tried to wriggle out of its grip but it wouldn’t let go.
Then just when it looked like he wouldn’t be able to get out, a blur of claws, fangs, and orange fur ripped at the tentacle that bound Gary. Gary fell to the ground and Cat landed in his lap. “When did you...?!” Cat got up from Gary and walked off to enjoy the shade of the trees. “Oh, thanks.” said Gary, dodging the next flailing tentacle.
“Gary! Get behind me!” yelled Miroku. Gary, showing no argument to go the opposite direction, ran from the monster and joined the rest. Miroku pulled the prayer beads on his wrist off and aimed his palm at the demon. There was immediately a powerful wind that sucked the monster into the monk’s hand, and when this was done, Miroku replaced the prayer beads. Gary ignored this seeing as he just didn’t want to know.
“Well, that was actually easier than I thought!” said Kagome. Gary glared at her. “What?!” she protested.
“Gary, does he belong to you?” said Sango, pointing at Cat.
“More or less.” Gary answered.
“How cute!” said Kagome, picking Cat up. “What’s his name?”
“Cat.” replied Gary. Kagome looked at him strangely. “He came to me, and I never bothered calling him anything other than Cat.” said Gary, shrugging.
Shippo jumped onto Kagome’s shoulder and looked at Cat.  "He’s a little smaller than me...”
“And that means you DON’T pull his ears....” said Kagome removing Shippo’s small hands from Cat’s ears.
“Gary? Gary where are you?” called a familiar voice.
“Marissa?!” Gary turned to see her walking through the trees with Spike. “Marissa are you okay?!” said Gary running up to her.
“I’m fine, When the fire stopped, we told the police that we were friends of yours and they let us come into the shrine with them. But when we got to the Well-House something came over Spike and he jumped right into the well, taking me with him.” said Marissa.
“We?” said Gary.
“Marissa, slow down!” Chuck said, coming out of the trees, “Gar! We found you!”
“If you two got through the well, then you must posses a shard as well.” said Miroku.
“And you are?” said Chuck.
“That doesn’t matter right now, do they have one Kagome?”
“I don’t sense any.” said Kagome. There was a sudden flash of light and a girl with light brown hair appeared.
“Who are you?” said Chuck.
“She’s the author. I know her all to well... let me go...” said Miroku as the girl gave him a hug ^-^.
“Okay! Marissa doesn’t have a shard but I couldn’t leave her in 2002 cuz she’s so cool!” she said, not letting go of Miroku.
“What about Chuck?” said Marissa.
“It didn’t seem fair to leave him out, he’s not my favorite chara, but I felt sympathy for him and let him come...”
“Sympathy?” said Chuck. The author stuck out her tongue at Chuck, gave Marissa a hug, and went back to her desk in her room to type more.
“Okay, that having nothing to do with this, can we go back now?” said Gary.
“They’re probably still searching the shrine, we can’t go back for a while.” said Kagome.
Gary sighed. “Well what are we supposed to do until then?! I’m NOT staying here after that giant... squid....”
Marissa cocked her head to the side. “Giant what?”
“Nothing...”
“Well first of all, some introductions are in order.” said Miroku. Marissa and Chuck introduced themselves.
“Well, Gary is right that we can’t stay here.” said Sango, “So let’s get going to Kaede’s.” The others agreed that that was a good idea even though Gary and Marissa didn’t know who Kaede was. (“What about me?” “Be quiet Chuck!”)
~~~~~

“Kagome, are these friends of yours?”said Kaede.

“Erm... this is Gary, Marissa, and Chuck.”

“Hi Kaede!!!!” yelped Shippo.

“Ah Shippo, I made you some mochi...”

“YAAAYYY!!!! sugoi sugoi sugoi ne!!!!!” Shippo ran into a corner and began stuffing the rice balls into his mouth. Gary sat down with the others and tried to eat the boiling hot miso soup Kaede had just made.

Kagome explained their situation and Kaede nodded. “Well I will have to ask you not to mention any of this to anyone in your world if you please.”

“Are you kidding?!!!” said Chuck. “This place is perfect for my shoot!” Chuck got a blow to the head for this, compliments of  Inu-Yasha. “What do you think you’re doing kid?!!!” exclaimed Chuck, rubbing his head. Inu-Yasha grabbed him by the collar and pulled him to his feet. Or off his feet...

“Don’t-tell-ANYONE!!!” he said, holding Chuck off the ground by his collar.

“Inu-Yasha, don’t MAKE me say it again...” said Kagome. Inu-Yasha growled and set Chuck down. “But tell anyone and I won’t stop him the next time.” said Kagome, sipping her tea. Chuck gulped and sat down.

~~~~~
“I’ll come with you so I can get the shard back from you on the other side.” said Kagome. The group was walking back to the well, figuring that the police would be gone by now. “You had better not leave when you---ACK!” A giant hand flew down from the sky and nearly smashed Inu-Yasha.
“Sesshou-maru!!” yelled Inu-Yasha.
“Can’t you just give it up?!!” a man with long silver hair and demon markings on his face walked down from the  shoulder. “Give me the Testsuaigia.” he said.
“You don’t get it do you?!” said Inu-Yasha. “The sword rejected you, it can’t be wielded by.... ARE YOU LISTENING TO ME?!!!!” Sesshou-Maru had turned from his little brother and was examining Marissa.
“From the look, you are mortal, but....” said Sesshou-Maru.
Marissa huffed. “Yes, I’m blind!”
“Leave her be Sesshou-Maru! The fight is here!” Inu-Yasha slashed at his brother but Sesshou-maru was too quick for him. He jumped out of the way, grabbed Marissa, and flew away, the ogre following him. Spike barked from the ground.
“Marissa! What do we do now?!” said Gary, grabbing the collar of Inu-Yasha’s kimono. (Is there a collar on a kimono? ?_?)
“We just follow him and get her back.” said Inu-Yasha, swatting away Gary’s hands.
That did it. Gary grabbed Inu-Yasha’s collar again and lifted his feet from the ground. “You need to take this seriously!” he growled. “You are the only one who can help us, and you need to get it together! I saw that he was faster and probably more skilled than you, so don’t get so cocky! Now GO FIND HER!!!”
Gary dropped him. “That’s a first Gar.” said Chuck, surprised Gary looked surprised himself.
“It’s okay.” said Kagome, patting his back. “We all snap once in a while when we’re with Inu-Yasha.”
“Hey!”
“Let’s go find Marissa.” said Kagome, following Spike, who had already set out.
~~~~~

(Sesshou-Maru and Marissa)

Marissa pounded on Sesshou-Maru’s back, demanding that he take her back now. “If you don’t be quiet, I will kill you.” said Sesshou-Maru. There was something in his voice that made Marissa realize he was serious, and she fell quiet. They came upon a small village where Sesshou-Maru set her down and led her to one of the cottages.

“Sesshou-Maru’s baaack!” came a child’s voice. “Rin is so happy!” Marissa felt a tug on her hand. “Are you Rin’s new friend?” Marissa knelt down. “Huh? What’s wrong? Can’t you see Rin?” Marissa smiled a little when Rin let out a little gasp. “Wow... Sesshou-Maru has told Rin of people like you, but Rin thought they were stories!”

“Did Sesshou-Maru kidnap you?” asked Marissa.

“No. Sesshou-Maru save Rin’s wandering soul.” she said quietly.

“What is your name?” came Sesshou-Maru’s voice from behind her.

“Marissa. Why did you bring me here?”

“I wanted Rin to meet you.”

“Then you should’ve just ASKED!”

“I would not ask a mortal for a favor... especially a blind mortal.”

“Rin, where is he?” Rin turned her around and pushed her forward a little. “Right in front of you!” she said, smiling.

“Thank-you.” Marissa slapped him across the face. Rin let out a little scream. “Don’t you dare say that. Now take me back.”

“You are the only mortal who has dared to hit me. Are you asking for your death?” He grabbed her wrist. “If you do that again, I will melt your arm with my talons.” (Poisonous claws...)

Marissa slapped him with her free hand. “LET GO!” surprisingly, he did. “Now you take me back RIGHT now.” she said angrily. Sesshou-Maru was silent. Then Inu-Yasha got there with everyone else.

“Sankontetsuou!” Inu-Yasha tore Sesshou-Maru’s left kimono sleeve off. Sesshou-Maru jumped out of the way of his next attack, and flew away with Rin. Inu-Yasha was about to go after him but Kagome made him ‘Sit’, and told him it was no use fighting.

“Marissa are you okay?!” Gary and Chuck came running over.

“I’m just fine.” Chuck gave her Spike’s leash.

“He helped us get here, good dog.” said Sango.

“Well let’s get going, I have to get back ASAP for a shoot.”

Kagome rolled her eyes and headed towards the well again. Another demon showed up, but Gary, who was getting tired of this, lugged a stick at it and it ran off. “Wimp.” muttered Inu-Yasha, sheathing his blade.

They finally made it to the well. “Well, it was nice to meet you Gary.” said Sango. Gary shook her hand and she blushed.

Miroku quickly stepped between the two. “Someday we may meet again, I’ll look forward to that.” he said, shaking Gary’s hand as well. After everyone said goodbye, Gary, Marissa, and Kagome jumped into the well.

“Chuck... You can go now...” said Miroku.

“You think I’m JUMPING?!!” Inu-Yasha growled and gave Chuck a bit of a forceful shove.

Once Gary had hauled an almost unconscious Chuck out of the well, Kagome took the Shikon shard, waved goodbye, and jumped back in. Gary walked outside and one of the firemen spotted him. “Thank goodness you’re okay! Are you alright?” he said.

“Yeah... just great...” said Gary. After being questioned quite a few times, Gary went back to the hotel in a taxi, Chuck asleep, and Marissa sitting quietly. He pulled out the paper and his name had vanished from the page. He sat back. “I think that’ll be enough for today...”

yah, daz it. I’m sorry that these characters fell victim to my insanity, and that Chuck fell victim to my bullying ^^;;; I hope you liked it! Sorry it’s so short!
